Entering the 5th year of Ottumwa Leadership Academy(O.L.A.) the program now has all alumni on its Advisory Board with the announcement of two additional advisory board members Wesley Krenz and Cassie Plowman.

Wesley Krenz is a Regional Manager at Community 1st Credit Union based out of Ottumwa. He recently graduated from Buena Vista University where he double majored in Accounting and Finance and Banking. He’s also a graduate from the O.L.A. class of 2015. His interests outside of work include community volunteering, recording and music production, watching Iowa Hawkeye athletics, and anything relating to the great outdoors. Wesley resides in Ottumwa with his wife Sarah and dog Cozmo.

Cassie Plowman is a Buyer at John Deere Ottumwa Works.  She received her AA from Indian Hills Community College and a BS in Business from Bellevue University.  She is also a graduate from the O.L.A. class of 2016.  She is active with the Davis County Fair Board as Art Hall Superintendent, T.T.T. – Chapter Q in Bloomfield, the Bloomfield Mother’s Club and Girls Scouts. She currently lives in rural Bloomfield with her two daughters Blakelyn, 12 and Parker, 8 and boyfriend, Scott Shively.

“This is a milestone for Ottumwa Leadership Academy,” stated Hollie Tometich, Executive Director.  “We teach board governance as part of our curriculum and we follow what we teach. Each of the alumni on our advisory board have been on one of our committees and showed commitment and provided meaningful input while serving on those committees.”

Brad Little, President and CEO of the Legacy Foundation stated, “This program is doing what it set out to do – which is develop effective leaders for the betterment of our community. The graduates are not only staying involved with the Academy (with 45% of local alumni active in the alumni association), they are also finding ways to make a difference in our community.”
