Wes Krenz, O.L.A. Class 2015 and Regional Manager at Community 1st Credit Union based in Ottumwa, was recently selected by the Iowa Credit Union League to participate in their 2018 Iowa Innovation Group. This six-month program is led by the ICUL and facilitated by the Filene Research Institute. “I’ll be responsible for piloting and implementing new ideas to help develop credit unions both state and nationwide,” shared Wes.

In the last four years, IIG has already produced 20 innovative concepts addressing real members’ needs that credit unions in the state of Iowa are invited to collaborate on for implementation. This year’s class is looking to add four more concepts to this portfolio. As in previous years, the new four innovative concepts will be presented at the Iowa Credit Union Convention on September 19-21 in Coralville, IA.

“It’s an honor to have been selected to be a part of this prestigious program for Iowa credit unions,” stated Wes. “The financial industry is experiencing significant changes in the landscape, and disruption is inevitable. Iowa credit unions are certainly doing their part to improve consumers’ lives through not-for-profit financial cooperatives. I’m excited for this new type of challenge, and being able to put my leadership skills to the test!”
