Maggie Sauer holds an Associate of Arts degree from Indian Hills Community College & Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from William Penn University. As a Financial Aid Advisor for Indian Hills Community College, Maggie assists in the administration of federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs, provides guidance to students, parents, staff, and the community regarding Financial Aid processes and procedures, and provides additional support to Student Services related programs.
Maggie joined the Ottumwa Leadership Academy as an opportunity to learn more about Ottumwa and its surrounding communities, and as an opportunity to help improve her leadership skillset. “Having grown up around the Ottumwa community, but being fairly new to the community itself, I also saw it as an opportunity to increase my network of professional connections within the area,” she said.
The experiences she’s had thus far in the Academy have already impacted her work; “Ottumwa Leadership Academy has expanded my knowledge of resources within the area and increased my professional and personal network with leaders and community members from various institutions. The topics discussed during the monthly sessions have also helped me consider some things in both my professional and personal worlds from new perspectives.”
