Lexi Mitchell, Class of 2020, has been promoted to Trainer at Community First Credit Union. She previously served as a Personal Financial Representative. In her new role, she identifies training needs based on new employees’ strengths to prepare them for their new roles.
Her new position allows her to improve both the experience and achievement of new employees.
Lexi’s own experience in the Ottumwa Leadership Academy helped shape her career goals. She said, “Being a part of such an impactful and goal-orientated group opened my eyes to how many resources we have in Ottumwa and how we can help each other grow and achieve our goals. Throughout my year in O.L.A. I discovered how much joy it brings me to help others. Now, in my new position, I focus on helping others and setting them on the path to achieving their own goals.”
Lexi grew up in Ottumwa, and before attending the Ottumwa Leadership Academy, she thought she knew the community well. “But,” she said, “I learned about so many amazing resources within our community that I was unaware of before participating in the Ottumwa Leadership Academy. I love being a part of such a great community that has so much drive to grow and improve.” Being a part of the Academy also inspired her to continue on her leadership journey. Since graduating from the program, she has joined the Hy-Noon Kiwanis and the C1st Ambassadors.
