After graduating from the Ottumwa Leadership Academy in 2014, Barb Allison joined the Advisory Committee and helped develop the Ottumwa Leadership Academy Alumni Association. The Alumni Association keeps O.L.A. graduates engaged in our community by providing ongoing professional development and networking
In October 2019, Barb passed away leaving a legacy of loving and serving her family, friends, and community. She attended every alumni event she could – whether it was serving brats at Oktoberfest, greeting new class members at networking mixers, diving into a book discussion, or checking people in at graduation. She was the ultimate go-giver that alumni of Ottumwa Leadership Academy strive to emulate.
To honor her legacy, the Alumni Association has established the Barb Allison Alumni Award. The annual award will recognize an O.L.A. alum who is actively engaged in service and dedicated to building leaders in our community. The recipient will be a Go Giver; an authentic, Servant Leader, with Integrity.
At the June 3rd Ottumwa Leadership Graduation Ceremony, Natalie Bolin, who partnered with Barb to create the Alumni Association presented the first annual Barb Allison Award to Steve Allison, her husband, in her honor.
