AJ Gevock, Class of 2019, made a bold career move in 2020. He said “The Ottumwa Leadership Academy helped me see the opportunity in stepping outside of my comfort zone. I was interested in real estate but hesitant to leave my chosen career path in higher education. Being surrounded by talented professionals that were hungry for growth and looking to better themselves made it easier for me to explore new opportunities.”
AJ holds both a bachelors and a master’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa. As a lifelong learner, he has also participated in both Iowa State’s Community College Leadership Institute Consortium and Indian Hills Community College’s Razors Edge Leadership Academy and had the following say “Having participated in several leadership programs, I can easily say that Ottumwa Leadership Academy has an element to it that other programs do not. It connects you to the community and to a broader local network om amazing people.”
Outside of work, AJ is an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and camping with his family.
