Tish Reck, Class of 2014, recently became an Instructor for Business Specialist/Office Management at Indian Hills Community College.  Tish is no stranger to IHCC as she has worked there as the assistant to the Executive Dean of Workforce & Education, the assistant to the dean of the ATC, and the secretary of business and industry/continuing education.   Tish is an example of what success looks like for a student who goes through the program she now oversees. She graduated what was then called the secretarial program in 1991, followed by her Associates Degree in 2007, and then her Bachelor’s Degree fro BVU (housed at IHCC).

In addition to the great mentors at IHCC, Tish said that the experience with Ottumwa Leadership Academy gave her “the confidence to reach for this goal.”  She said it helped her develop networking skills and made her want to take on more leadership opportunities.  “I want my students to not just learn the materials, but also become leaders. Everyone can be a leader, regardless of position.”
