Lindsey Gould is a Marketing & Media Specialist for Community 1st Credit Union, where she has worked for over seven years. Lindsey was born and raised in Ottumwa. After graduating from Ottumwa High School, she received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa.
When asked why she wanted to be a part of the Ottumwa Leadership Academy, she said, “I thrive off personal and professional development. I am always looking for that next conference or that next learning opportunity to help me be the best version of me I can be.”
Lindsey thrives on helping people, which is apparent in her Top 5 CliftonStrengths:
- Responsibility
- Relator
- Includer
- Belief
- Connectedness
“Understanding my top talents according to the CliftonStrengths assessment has made me feel empowered to be who I am to my core personally and professionally. I feel inspired to embrace these and offer something to the table that someone else in my team may not be able to,” Gould said. “I think it’s so important to have different kinds of leadership, especially when you have a very dynamic team, so understanding my strengths will be impactful as I lead my team and continue to build my team.”
Lindsey has noticed a theme occurring to her in the Academy’s monthly sessions; how mental health impacts each organization in our community. “I am extremely interested in the mental health crisis going on in our world today, and every single session we have had so far spoke about the correlation between their respective fields and the mental health struggle in the community. Whether hearing from a teacher, or a police officer, it was consistent in hearing one of their biggest obstacles or struggles has been mental health.”
Lindsey and her husband Cory live south of Ottumwa with their 2-year-old daughter and three dogs.
