Meet current class member Samantha Ulin!
Samantha is a native of Ottumwa where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance from Buena Vista University and graduated from Cannon Financial Institute. She is a Trust Officer at South Ottumwa Savings Bank.
When reflecting on why she wanted to participate in Ottumwa Leadership Academy, Samantha said, “I want to enhance my leadership skills and to further educate myself on the different opportunities that Ottumwa has to offer.

“Learning about my CliftonStrengths has made me understand myself better and the way I do things and also understand the strengths of those around me.”
Thinking about the various classes, Samantha shared, “The most impactful class for me so far was learning about the human, community & health services offered in Ottumwa. I was aware of some of the organizations, but really learned what they each had to offer and how they impact our community.”
With a few classes under her belt, Samantha stated, “The class I am most looking forward to is the trip to the statehouse and an opportunity to meet with the state leaders.”
Samantha currently resides in Agency with her husband, Nick, and their children. She enjoys spending time with family and watching her children’s activities. Samantha is on the Agency City Council, Board Member of Friends of Ottumwa’s Parks, and Board Member of American Home Finding Association.
