Dr. Jill Budde, O.L.A. class of 2015, has been promoted to Vice President, Learning & Engagement at Indian Hills Community College. Jill, who joined the Indian Hills team in 2006, is a physical therapist by formal education. She earned her Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate degrees from Clarke University in Dubuque and practiced Physical Therapy full time in Wisconsin before moving to Ottumwa. Jill and her husband, Shawn, have two sons, Evan and Rece.
Jill’s time in Ottumwa Leadership Academy allowed her to network outside of her typical professional groups. She met people from all areas of business and industry, many of whom she still engages with regularly. That extended network has gotten her involved in additional opportunities within the community.
Budde has two pieces of advice for anyone considering enrolling in the Ottumwa Leadership Academy. “No matter how long you have lived or worked in Wapello County, there is something to learn about our community, yourself, or your professional growth in OLA. The second piece of advice is that if lack of time is your concern – ignore that excuse. It does take time to invest in your growth for both personal and professional benefit. I will tell you the time I invested in OLA has been repaid to me in multiples with the benefits I received.”
