To celebrate 10 years since the program began, the Ottumwa Leadership Academy is hosting The Longest Table event on June 12th, 2022 from 5 – 7 p.m.
The Longest Table is a nationwide movement to bring together community members for good food and great conversation. “This is a community-wide event where we are inviting ALL community members including people of diverse backgrounds and underrepresented members of the Ottumwa Community,” said Hollie Tometich, Executive Director of Ottumwa Leadership Academy.
Local food trucks will provide meals for all participants, who will dine along a 200-foot table set up down the 100 block of Main Street. O.L.A. alumni will help spur conversation at the table about community, giving a voice to all and an opportunity for all to listen & learn from one another.
“This is a great opportunity for people to meet their neighbors across the community. Our hope is that each person meets someone they haven’t met before, learn more about people sitting at their tables, and start to make connections that bring the community together,” stated Tometich.
Residents aged 16 and up are invited to participate and must register at tinyurl.com/OLALongestTable. Registration is only $7.50 per person and group registration is available.
